Juwan Chambers

Founder, CEO

Juwan is an award-winning director, writer, producer and actor from Queens, NY, who had a passion for the arts for as long as he can remember. Although he initially wanted to be a singer, Juwan fell in love with filmmaking at the tender age of 9. With the help of YouTube and Google, he taught himself how to write screenplays and about the business of the film industry.

While in high school, he served as the Student Director and Stage Manager of the spring musical during his junior and senior year. In 2014, he went to college to further hone his skills as a filmmaker, eventually graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema and a minor in Sociology in May 2018.

Since then, Juwan launched Switch Up Entertainment and directed, written and produced a range of projects that have amassed over 56,000 views on YouTube. His short film, 1 IN 71, received acclaim and was a semi-finalist at the 2018 Trinity International Film Fest. The short also earned him the 2020 Nov/Dec Best Director Platinum Award at the Mindfield Film Festival, Albuquerque. Additionally, in September of 2018, one of his original teleplays was a quarterfinalist in the MACRO's Episodic Lab.

Set on becoming one of Hollywood’s next big multi-hyphenate, Juwan seeks to expand images of historically excluded communities with affirming, authentic stories with a level of gravitas.
